There are several channels that I have very poor reception with, or no reception at all (searching for signal) like food network. Many of the transmitters on various satellites report in the 80-90% range, but many have no reception at all. I'm just wondering which one's I should try to focus on adjusting.

  1. I'm not sure, myself, which ones come off which transponders.

I do know, however, that if you go to http://www.directv.com and then click Customer Support and then Technical Help Forums and you pose this question there with your signal meter readings and what channels are having problems, they'd be glad to help you out. They can help you diagnose if it's your receiver, cabling, multiswitch or dish that's having the problem, then explain to you how to fix it yourself.

Be aware, it is a user-to-user forum, but a lot of the posters (especially the Tech Know Guides) know a lot about the DirecTV system and the various problems average users have. If you have any specific issues that you need DirecTV to resolve, you will either need to send them an email or call them.

  2. Assuming you are PAYING for DirectTV, CALL it's local customer service rep and have DirectTV personnel fix your problem. That is part of what you pay for each month.
