Which chapter set up should I use?

Ok, I'm writing a novel (for fun) and the main character is pregnant. I was thinking about having each week in her pregnancy a chapter. My problem is, she goes to the fairy world at six months (or 20 weeks) and 20 chapters seems too long before the interesting bits. Should I have each of the first six months a chapter, condense the six months into 1-2 chapters, or move up when she enters the fairy world? If I changed the date, she's go at twelve weeks or something like that, since it coincides with an ultrasound. Thanks!

  1. i would just arrange it around main events, i believe that is the normal way to do it.

have an important event happen in each chapter. then move to the next important event.

  2. It sounds amazing. I hope you can pull it off :)

  3.      Split your chapters into months.  Then the final three months can be used to build the story to an exciting climax.  Hope this helps,

    Good luck
