Which characteristics/qualities do managers look for when interviewing for supervisor positions?

  1. I am the VP at a bank, and a supervisor of over 500 employees, and when interviewing for those types of positions, I always look at the resume to see how long they held their previous jobs, what type of experience they have, I check references, I ask about how reliable they are as far as absences and tardies, and I also look for positions where they may have already held leadership positions in other departments which may be helpful in the position that I'm hiring for, although if they have all the other qualities as well as educational background, I will train the right person, or make sure they receive the correct training.
