  1. it all depends in the use you are planing to give it, harbor freight tools has some of the most cheaper and reliable, plus if you buy an extended warranty,(a few extra bucks) if it gets broken they replace it for a new one, no questions asked, hope this will help you make a desicion.

  2. The only thing the Chinese make that is good are Junks. I don't trust Honda anymore as they are properly made in China now.

  3. The ones made in Korea

  4. Most are only designed for low loadings/use so do not consider one if you are going to hammer it. They are good as standyby generators for non-critical applications but I would not recommend them for anything other than light use. If you need to run a 600W load then use one rated at 1 kw and avoid running it for long periods, if possible. Keeping it cool will increase its lifespan considerably. Spares are probably going to be a problem but most equipment coming out of China is improving in quality and you will be able to order most common spares through the distributor, if they are still in business when you need them! Consider a deisel set - you could run it off a mixture of used veggie oil and white spirits to thin it down. I have been using a 12kVA set for many years on such a mixture with no problems and it has saved me the purchase price many times over.

  5. They vary in quality so much that you cannot trust any of them.  In the long run, one made in the SA or Europe will cost you less when down time is factored in.
