  1. christchurch and wellinton

but the final must b played in the house of pain! that way if nz are in the final and they lose they would have not only choked but have done it in the worst place possible lol

  2. I would say firstly the places spending money Dunedin Christchurh Auckland and Wellington. It is not just about a the Rugby and i know everyone would love it to go to the little towns, but it is about being able to host, and deliver all the other things required. This is our oppurtunity to get judged on the world stage for other events. So lets make sure everything is right. Lets not pull out that silly PC card.

  3. quarter finals:

christchurch (2nd biggest stadium in nz)

    dunedin (getting a cool upgrade)

    wellington (its the caketin)

    hamilton (mooloo)

    semis:

    auckland

    christchurch

    final:

    auckland

  4. I think Dunedun should host one of them as their new stadium will have a roof and will look great on TV to the rest of the world. Then Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.  They are spending too much money on Eden Park to not have a Quarter final and Final there.

  5. that is a good question because unlike most people who have answered giving u locations 4 the semis, final and 3v4 it is all about the quarters because the nzru dont care about the fans its all about money that is why its already decided that auckland will host all 4 of those games they claim its because they dnt want teams to travel to far but how big do they think nz is? so my answer is 2 for wellington 2 for christchurch cos it seems fair but also makes them money anyway 75% of the tickets will be reserved 4 foreigners us locals will be shafted no matter wot happens unfortuantly

  6. If they are spending that much money on Eden Park then they should have the lot not that there will be many tickets available for thr Joe average rugby supporter

  7. Christchurch should host a World Cup quarterfinal, because they are the only South Island team mentioned above, and the tournament should truly be a tournament that touches all parts of New Zealand and Australia. I suppose an Australian city should host the final, but I'd say that Auckland, being the hub of rugby in a rugby-crazed nation, should at least host the second most important game of the tournament!

  8. Christchurch & Wellington should get two of the 1/4 finals and Dunedin & Hamilton the other two.Reason being is that the two South Island stadiums will be new and it would be a waste if they miss out.3rd/4th play-off should be at Nth Harbour in keeping with the finals being in Auckland

  9. wat are u on about JK?? 2011 RWC is only held in New Zealand not co-hosted with Australia... i think the quarter finals should be held in all of the cities above and 3rd/4th play-off should be held in Christchurch cuz as Auckland is hosting final and it is in north island the other match should be in south island. and also cuz AMI stadium is the second biggest to Eden Park

  10. Wellington and Hamilon

  11. My picks- Auckland (north harbour stadium or eden park but eden park has the final) ,Waikato Stadium,Christchurch and possibly Otago or Wellington all coz there mean citys and are rugby mad!!!!!!!!!

  12. I think the ABs should play in the various centres and not be restricted to one centre. They deserve to be seen in as many centres as possible.

  13. No Doubt About It . . .

    Taneatua, Poroporo, Waimana & Ruatoki . .!

    Should get a look in!

  14. After a bout of investigating, I have noticed the amount of commitment to the Rugby World Cup in 2011 by many of New Zealand’s cities. Many of these cities have a great proven record of hosting large-scale events and will flourish with the opportunity to host one of ¼ final or 3rd/4th play-off matches. “Eden Park” was always going to play host to the biggest games with an expected crowd capacity of 60,000 and its situation in New Zealand’s main centre. Considering New Zealand’s other main centres, finding the best suited venues comes down to a process of elimination determined by several factors:

    -Crowd Capacity

-Functionality (the venue itself and its interaction with the surrounding environment)

-Location (nationally and on a local level)

-Appeal (how well will it represent NZ on the international stage)

Based on these I have compiled, with a couple of noted points, the following venues to host the ¼ Finals & 3rd/4th play-off:

“Westpac Stadium” in Wellington. Crowd capacity of 34,500, situated in the New Zealand’s capital, very centrally located.

“AMI Stadium” in Christchurch. With a projected capacity of 43,000 + temporary seating, this will be New Zealand’s second largest stadium. Located in the South Islands largest centre, which can easily host an event such as a ¼ final.

“Carisbrook Stadium” in Dunedin. The redevelopment and relocation of Carisbrook will prove a great ambassador of New Zealand’s technological ingenuity. Potential crowd capacity of 35,000 and located very close to the city centre.

“Waikato Stadium” in Hamilton. Having recently held the inaugural “Hamilton 400”, Hamilton has shows it has the ability to host events. Crowd capacity of 25,000 + 5000 temporary seating, close to the city centre.

    Having the Play-off for 3rd and 4th in Auckland would be a good idea in terms of logistics, and if it cannot be played at Eden Park, then one of the following stadiums would work well;

“Mt. Smart Stadium” 15 minutes south of Auckland CBD. Crowd capacity of 30,000

“North Harbour Stadium” 30 minutes north of Auckland CBD on the North-Shore. Crowd capacity of 25,000

So to re-cap; Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton and North-Shore/Mt. Smart

  15. wellington, christchurch, hamilton and new plymouth should get the quarter finals because auckland have already been guarranted the semis and final and the 3rd/4th playoff sould go to christchurch because they missed out on hosting a semi (poor christchurch) but go the ALL BLACKS

  16. hamilton,it is a central city, close to auckland ,has a huge rugby catchment,i.e northland, auckland, waikato, bay of plenty.excelent stadium.

  17. Wellington,Auckland*2,Christchurch They are the biggest centres and will make the most money.

  18. Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin (if they have a new stadium) should host the semi's.

Auckland already gauranteed the Semi's and Final.

3rd/4th play off should be in either North Harbour or Hamilton to keep the end of the tournament in the same vacinity.

The AB's should play all their playoffs games in Auckland because it's where they have the best win record in the country.

  19. Wellington Albany Christchurch Hamilton

    Semi and Final in Auckland

    3rd/4th Ddunedin
