  1. Manchester

  2. Just get on the train. ANYwhere's better than Blackburn - what a hole.

  3. She some lass you met on Yahoo? Make sure you get to see her REAL picture. I once went to meet some lass I met online, she always told me she was slim, size 8' n that..... Guess what happened... 3 ft dwarf gets off train, 3 kids, 4 suitcases and says to her kids."here’s ya new father"...

  4. Manchester....trains stop at Victoria Station there..handy for the MEN arena and the northern quarter.

There are direct trains to Leeds from Blackburn that run via Hebden bridge.

Train also run to Blackpool from there too.

  5. Well Blackburn was regarded as a dump 40 odd years ago. I hope it has improved, if not anywhere else will be seen as a fun place.

  6. I went to Blackburn the other week on THE COTTON MILLS EXPRESS, steam hauled out of Manchester Victoria, so there is your answer. As for Blackburn, it should be given to the R.A.F. as a bombing range, that will probably do several million pounds worth of improvements to the place.

  7. Preston and Bolton are your options, I'd be really depressed if I had only those options.

  8. I bet all the disparaging comments about Blackburn have been made by soppy Southerners living in borng suburbia. As the previous answer said, Manchester (Change for Liverpool), Leeds or Blackpool.

  9. The problem you have is that being on the west coast line, there is a good chance you will have to change at Crewe regardless of your destination.  Everyone seems to have to change at Crewe.  I assume that was why they built it in the first place.

Have a look at the link below, see if there's anywhere you fancy on there.  I have heard good things about Glasgow, and you get to visit a foreign country into the bargain.
