i have decided that i would like to move from the U.S. to Canada. But i am not sure which part of Canada would be best. I have only been to Toronto so far, i have not seen many cities yet. So um....let me tell you a bit about me if that can help some.

i am in my early 20's, i am in college studying for a degree in hospital administration, though i can assume this will do me no good in canada lol, but i could also use that degree for becoming a volunteer coordinator in hospital if possible. i am an atheist, i don't know how to drive, so i would like a place where there is lots of public transportation. i don't really want to live in a city type (apartments etc.), more like a bit off of the city, where there is a sense of community type place (small homes, parks etc), . oh...and i am of hispanic origin, i would really hate to be in a racially intolerant place, where i would stick out like a sore thumb and be treated differently. i want blend in and be friendly and comfortable :) any place that comes to mind where i'd be welcome?

  1. Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver.

  2. Montreal is the place for you it fits all of your needs and schooling is the cheapest so is rent. there is a big hispanic community there also.

  3. Take a look in the site of the Consulate, because they have programs for people who wants to move there...

  4. Try Moncton, New Brunswick. Houses are affordable compared to places like Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and your degree will make you very employable. Moncton has a transit(bus) system, you are very close to some of the best beaches in Canada. Moncton has a very diverse population so being Hispanic shouldn't be any sort of a problem. I don't know of too many here that care that much what religion if any you may be. Moncton was recently voted the friendliest city in Canada in a readers poll of a National magazine and a local hospital was rated #1 in after patient care. This is a great area, Government of Canada web site has a link for a National job bank so you can check for yourself on job opportunities and if you go to mls.ca, then click on New Brunswick, then Moncton area, you can check prices for homes. Moncton is a 7 hour drive to historic Quebec City, 10 hours to Montreal and an easy days drive to Boston, New York City. Winters we get a lot of snow (most years) but the temp is generally above 0 Fahrenheit and the summers , the temp is into the 80's and 90's.Best wishes on your move.
