Well,I live in New York so I guess I will be partial to my home state! There are smart and not so smart people everywhere in the world! You cannot make such a blanket statement!Food is different everywhere as well,that is not even up for a debate! I know NY salaries are one of the highest in the US! There are pros and cons for both NY and Chicago!

Chicago is an American city. New York is a world city.

Both are excellent but New York still has a more cosmopolitan flair to it as well a far deeper multiculturalism that appeals to intelligent people.

On average, the people from Chicago tend to be a little friendlier. However, while New Yorkers tend to be somewhat more rushed, I have met a lot of very good people in New York as well.
