Which city is closer to Cannes/Nice--Venice or Italy? I'm traveling by bus on Eurolines from London.?

I'm in London, going to Cannes/Nice. I have the choice of taking the Eurolines into Venice or Milan. I might take the bus so I want to go o whichever city is closer to Cannes/Nice, as there is no Euroline that goes directly from London (ferry) to Cannes/Nice

Milan is much closer... Milan is on the central north of Italy, Venice is in the east.  To get the train from Venice to France you would have to go through Milan, and its about a three hour trip.

Milan -> Nice: ~314 km by car

Venice -> Nice: ~576 km by car
