At my high school, my schedule was messed up. I was given a study hall when I was supposed to have a class. Now, there are only two classes available. One is a art/painting class and the other is a gym class. Since i need to pick one, which would look better to a college?

  1. Most likely art and painting, even though it may not hold any academical significance, it's always good to put down on a college resume or college application. Nowadays it's all about diversity.

  2. In general, I would say that it doesn't matter so much as long as you put your best effort into the class and earn the best grades you can.  However, in this case, I think that the art/painting class would be a better choice.  Taking an art class demonstrates a very cultured sort of interest, which makes you stand out on college applications.  If you're truly interested in the subject matter, then go for the art class.  Make sure that your skill level is right for the art class, though.

  3. why dont you just keep study hall?

  4. I agree.  Unless you feel like gym may be more helpful to you, I would go with art.  You can learn so much from an art class outside of how to draw, etc.  It is something all humans can relate with and knowing things about it can help once you make it into college.
