  1. Sociology was easier for me, but God, was it boring.

Look up the professors on ratemyprofessor.com to find out each class's level of ease. I loved my anthropology class because my teacher was so passionate, but it wasn't necessarily easy.

  2. cultural anthroprology is livelier

  3. Sociology is easier if you can deal with having to listen to morons tell you their personal story and why they are so disadvantaged. Sociology students love whining about the unfairness of society and the professors love encouraging it. h**l, you may even be asked to write essays about how society, in some aspect or another, has effected you personally. It's a lot like Psychology in the sense that a lot of stupid students take it rather than getting the professional help that they require. As if academic study will solve their personal problems.

Anthropology is much more objective, although you will be asked to view yourself as part of a culture, it is not so emotionally driven. Anthropology classes also cover a lot more and you learn more than the dumbass common sense kind of knowledge that a Sociology course provides you with.

To answer your question, if you can tolerate a lot of stupidity well, then take Sociology. If you find it easier to be in a class where most people, including your professors, are not blathering farts, take anthropology.

  4. It is totally going to depend on what you are better at and and who the professor is but in my experience Anthro is more interesting. Anthropology could have more science/biology in it so if you are good at science it may be easier but sometimes they only teach cultural anthro not the scientific.  Sociology is more theoretical.

  5. Depends on the Prof. and how they decide to set up the course and evaluate you (e.g. more multiple choice tests or more essays and what are you better at?).  Check the syllabi if you can and get opinions from people who have done the course before.

  6. it really depends on what type of sociology and what kind of anthropology class,  but this is what I've experienced.

my sociology class has to do more with speaking, psychology related, communicating...

my anthropology class was just like history, we learned about a certain part of Asia and concentrated on that for the whole semester..

my personal opinion, i think that my anthropology class was easier.
