I just bought a hibore xls draw with 10.5*, and a gold stiff shaft. I tried it on the golf simulator at golf town and decided to go with it. Now i dont know if i should go with the 9* loft? and is there a major difference between the gold and red stiff shafts? the simulator said i had a swing around 105-110 mph. Just wondering if the 9*, and red shaft would help my drives?

  1. It all depends on your swing. but for your speed I'd say 10* or 10.5* and regular or stiff shafts.  if you don't slice don't get a draw though cause the draws suck.  they are too dramatic and have too much of an effect.

  2. Goerge,

It depends on the kick point of the shaft. If you have a 10.5* lofted head and a swing speed between 105-110 then find a mid to high kick point shaft. The slower the swing speed the lower the kick point. Since you have a high swing speed then try a shaft with a higher kick point with that degree of loft in your club head. Some call it the bend point of the shaft.

If you already have a high trajectory and ball flight path and want to lower it to get more roll, then go to the lower lofted club head. But if you have a low trajectory and flight path then stick with the higher lofted club head and try a higher kick point shaft.

    Hope this helps,
