  1. You don't need to wear Under Armor if you are just planning to stay inside.

Generally tight clothes that are not specially designed to trap heat will be colder than baggy clothes. Baggy clothes create a dead air zone between your body and the garment. A pair of Army style baggy pants will be warmer than a pair of tight jeans even though both are made out of cotton.

If I'm just hanging out around my house I normally wear a long sleeve T-shirt and we keep the thermostat set around 65. A flannel shirt or a lightweight fleece pullover should be all you need if you don't want a bulky sweater.

  2. tighter clothes will keep you warmer, they should 'seal' the hot air in whilst baggier cloths will allow air to circulate allowing colder air in and hot air out!

  3. try some under armor, its lke wearing another skin

  4. in the cold dress in layers. for maximum warmth go with a moisture wicking layer. Under Armour Compression cold gear rocks (yah it's snug). So do shirts and pants made of light weigt polypropylene. Follow that up with some looser fitting layers such as a looser sweat shirt, then a jacket. also if you wear a neck gaiter or a knit hat you will really increase your warmth as you will cover the back of your neck where your body's "thermometer" is, and prevent heat from escaping through your scalp.

Number one rule in the snow: Cotton kills! Cotton just absorbs water and makes you colder. If you're gonna wear natural fibers wear wool because it is naturally moisture wicking.

  5. I used to live in northern Quebec where I would go snowboarding in -30 weather. I wore a layer of under armor, then, a polar flease sweater, then a good warm jacket on top.

p.s. make sure to wear ski/snowboard socks when you go.
