  1. driver,

    5-10 irons,

    putter,

    pitching wedge,

    sand wedge,

    and a 3 wood

  2. Typically a golf set will come with Driver, 3W 4-PW or SW, putter.  What you put in your set is up to you but you may only carry 14 clubs max (USGA rule 4-4.)  Personally I carry Driver, 3W, 5W, 4-9 irons, PW, GW, SW, LW and putter.

4-4. Maximum of 14 Clubs a. Selection and Addition of Clubs The player must not start a stipulated round with more than 14 clubs. He is limited to the clubs thus selected for that round, except that if he started with fewer than 14 clubs, he may add any number, provided his total number does not exceed 14.

The addition of a club or clubs must not unduly delay play (Rule 6-7) and the player must not add or borrow any club selected for play by any other person playing on the course.

  3. first time player needs:

    driver

    irons (3-9)

    pitching wedge

    putter

most will vary such as a 3 or 5 wood, but a beginner wont need them.  sometimes a 10 iron but it is the same thing as a pitching wedge.  you could have a sand wedge but the pitching wedge will do the job.  and of course cant forget the putter...hope that helps

  4. Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 3 to 9 iron, PW, SW and putter. Good Luck.

    Have a good one...

  5. i think    a basic set includeds

    putter

    pitching wedge

    driver

    7 iron

    three wood

    hope that helps
