  1. I am about a 9 or 10 handicap....i love taylormade woods...titlest irons.....and titlest putters......the new irons (Forged Muscle Backs)by titleist are very good from what i have heard....

  2. you should go to a good club  maker that has the launch monitor and see what you're temple  an swings speed .your temple speed also determines some on your swing speed .if he finds the right shaft for the swings speed your take away if it's slow or fast also dictates on shafts stiffness or flex

  3. if you have a 8.4 handicap I would go to golf galaxy or somewhere like that to get fitted for a set of clubs. I bet that would bring your handicap down at least a couple more shots.

  4. with an 8 your experience is going to tell you far more than 1000 answers from Yahoo answers.  go with your instincts and experience.

  5. If you have 8.4 HCP, you should know better that the best clubs for you are the clubs that are fitted for you, that you like and that you can hit well and that are in your budget.  Asking complete strangers to speculate as to the clubs that may fit you best is a little silly don't you think?

  6. Seriously mate, you play off 8 and your asking total strangers for their opinion. I am yet to meet ANY golfer off less than 10 who doesn't know EXACTLY what clubs suit their game and what don't.

My only recomendation would be to go and hit a few at a fitting centre which has no preference towards a particular brand.

I have recently brought some Ping G10's and upgraded from Taylor Made RAC OS's and I am very happy with them.

But get yourself to a practice day or two and hit a few clubs, you will know better after one hit of a 6 iron than 1000 comments on yahoo answers can tell you.

  7. This question has been asked by several " low handicappers " which makes me very suspicious of their veracity. One who has any basic , solid golf swing knows immediately, by feel, which club suits his needs. And he doesn't consult with others who " claim to know" what to do. As a caddy , 72 years ago, ready to enter high school I knew the clubs which suited my game and  for about $3 per club bought a set which lasted until I was released from service some 5 years later. Used this sticks through college  and open play until  I was able to afford a country club. Wilson Staff irons and woods were the first matched set purchased from the pro for the equivalent of what a couple of irons would cost today. The statement quoting" r7 standard with stiff flex  "and " rifle flighted 5.5 shafts " comes right from the descriptive sales pitch of the seller. To set the record straight my handicap was 4 and I was # 6 man on a six man team at Uconn in 1949.
