  1. Most community colleges have an "open door" policy.  They accept everyone.

  2. this really cant be answered without knowing which schools youre applying to, what your gpa in high school was and what your extra-curriculars are. for example, someone with a 29 act score, a 3.9 gpa and zero extra-curriculars may be beat out by some with a 21 act score, a 3.4 gpa and tons of after school commitments/ volunteer work (btw, start volunteering asap. colleges love that!). that said, 18 is on the low side (the national average is 21), and some colleges require a certain score to even consider the applicant. research the schools your are interested in, find out if they have a minimum act score requirement, and if you cant find it on their page, email admissions. if your gpa is lower than, say, a 3.0, you may be looking at community colleges, but dont worry; if you excel in your first year at community college, you can always try to transfer to a more prestigous 4 year school. good luck!

  3. It depends on the college.  Look for ACT ranges at various small, liberal arts schools like Monmouth College in Monmouth, IL.

  4. Depends on the college, if i were you though i might want to retake for a better score or start out at a community college, cause that is a very low score.

  5. that is a little below average avg is 20, so i would retake it

  6. I got a twenty and cried because if you want scholarships you have to get a 21. Plus it didn't help that all of my friends got between 25-30. I would take it again but you should also consider taking the SAT too. I scored in the 10th percentile on that and colleges were able to see that maybe I just had a bad test day when I took the ACT

  7. I would try again. Colleges will accept your highest score. Try looking at ACT study groups at school or the library.
