Which college/uni can i science foundation degree to study pharmacy?

hi, i'm hoping there's a college/uni where I can study science foundation degree or year and progress to Mpharm after but I would like to enrol now and start by this september. I want as much answer, please. also, I have all my 12 GCSE's A*'s but not very good A levels. thanks

I would recommend Scotland.

Scottish degrees are generally a year longer than English degrees, simply because students do their highers at the end of our year 12, and go into first year uni when we'd be in year 13.

Our year 13 is the equivalent to their first year of uni, so if your A levels aren't very good, you can basically retake year 13 but without having to stay in college.

That's what I did- I did well at GCSE but not very well at A Level. By going to Dundee, but by going into the 1st year not 2nd year, I managed to get onto a good course.

I have just done a Science foundation year at Preston College, in partnership with UCLAN.

It consisted of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. Also you have the option to take extra maths and extra physics both at a higher level (which I did) instead of an environmental biology module as it was more beneficial for me.

I chose to do this course as I did not take A-levels, and also did not want to take another two years before finally going to University.



With the foundation course that I have done you can progress after your first year straight on to a science based course at UCLAN, but if you wish to do Pharmacy you have to achieve  70% overal on each module and get a recomendation letter from a tutor, also I think you have to have an interview ( I know three people from my year are going on to do pharmacy).

However, I chose not to go to UCLAN and instead applied through UCAS for alternative Universities and I am starting Nottingham Trent University in September.
