  1. There are no universities that are recognized by any of the major educational accreditation organizations in the United States that teach parapsychology per se. The purpose of accreditation is to guarantee a certain degree of rigor in the educational curriculum, and a way to easily transfer earned credits from one institution to another, and so gaining a non-accredited degree in parapsychology (of which many are offered), is of questionable value.

However, it is possible to obtain a PhD in a parapsychological topic from several accredited universities. These include Saybrook Graduate School, the California Institute of Integral Studies, and the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, all located in the Northern California Bay Area. All have distant-learning programs.

There are occasional courses on parapsychology at major universities, usually taught by individual professors interested in the topic. In recent years this has included Stanford University and the University of California at Davis.

The situation in the UK is much different than the US. There are at least a half-dozen well-regarded universities with faculty and programs involving parapsychology. Two of the better known are the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and the University of Northampton. This US-UK difference demonstrates how cultural context strongly influences how this topic is perceived by academics.

Because parapsychology is usually regarded as a fringe topic within US academia, for US students it is best for one's career to earn degrees in one or more traditional topics, and to study parapsychology on the side.

  2. take the way to study the subject__ parapsychology is the best way but I haven't heard about any colleges will teach parapsychology

  3. No accredited US colleges offer a degree in parapsychology.  A few have courses in it - I think Duke is one - but if you want a degree in it, you'll have to go outside the country.  I believe Utrecht offers parapsychology.  But the main reason it isn't offered is because there's really nothing there to study - sure, you can try to study it, but no one's ever come up with repeatable results.  So until someone can actually demonstrate it exists, we won't teach it.

I suggest you get a degree in psychology and go from there - same basic idea, and you can learn the methods of the science before trying to apply it.
