  1. A good plan for one with a GED is to attend a Community College, get an AA degree, and then attend a 4 year University.

      

    If you have an AA, universities look at your GPA from Community College, not High School.  And GED isn't a factor any more.

      

    Nor is the ACT, as a rule.

      

    Good luck - I waited until I was 28 to start college, went the AA first route, and graduated at 34.  My employers helped with books and tuition.  I was mature enough to go at 28 - when I was 17, I wasn't ready for more school and joined the military instead.

    Life has been good.  You don't have to follow the norms in education to succeed, but you do need the degree in the long run.
