  1. Blue is law enforcement> Red is rescue>Or fire>

  2. Blue is for law enforcement only.  Red is a standard "running" light, as are green and white.

  3. Depends in what state you live in...Normally it is blue, red, or blue & red together.

  4. For lights on boats you have to follow the the Inland Rules. it is listed in 33 CFR 88.11 - or Inland Rules Annex V - Pilot Rules: Law enforcement vessels may display a flashing blue light when engaged in direct law enforcement or public safety activities. This light must be located so that it does not interfere with the visibility of the vessel's navigation lights.

Public Safety may display an alternating flashing red and yellow light signal. - it is an identification light and convays no special privilege or right of way

Any other type of light is not legal under the CFR's.

This includes traffic control, salvage, fire fighting and medical assistace vessels.

  5. Rotating blue lights.

  6. Blue lights are strictly law enforcement such as USCG and Police. Yellow would be a towing company like Seatow and red may be used by fire boats.

  7. Yep, blue is for law enforcement.
