  1. Sorry, but Sludge Bomb doesn't always inflict posion when it hits. This is because it has a 30% chance of inflicting normal poison. By normal poison, I mean poison that is not as strong as that of Toxic's.

    • Petal Dance is an inferior option compared to Grass Knot, Energy Ball, and Leaf Storm. You already have one other move that lets your opponent set up after you attack, so you shouldn't have another.

There are two main sets that I recommend. If you want Roserade to inflict status and be more of a supporter, then go with this set:

    ♦ Roserade @Focus Sash

    ~ Sleep Powder

    ~ Toxic Spikes

    ~ Grass Knot/ Leaf Storm

~ Sludge Bomb/ Hidden Power Fire (Hidden Power Ice, Fire, and Water work great)

This set is good, especially if you lead with Roserade

If you want Roserade to be more powerful with his/her attacking options, go with:

    ♦ Roserade @Damp Rock/ Heat Rock

    ~ Rain Dance/ Sunny Day

    ~ Sleep Powder

    ~ Weather Ball

    ~ Solar Beam/ Grass Knot

If you go with water (Damp Rock + Rain Dance + Grass Knot), you will be hitting fire types that come in on Roserade. If you go with Heat Rock + Sunny Day, you will hit steel types harder, as well as opposing grass, bug and ice types. I definitely recommend this set, especially with Heat Rock + Sunny Day. You will hit many steel Pokémon that come in on Roserade with a 100+ powered, fire-typed Weather Ball ( Weather Ball gets a boost from the sun too). You also have the ability to launch powerful, STABed Solar Beams in the sun. Sleep Powder lets you set up, if you need to.

The reason I don't recommend Hyper Beam and Sludge Bomb, although they're pretty good moves, is that Hyper Beam lets the opponent set up and Sludge Bomb only hits other grasses for super effective. Now, most grass types do come with a part posion type, so the damage will be neutral there. Also, if you do choose Sludge Bomb, Hyper Beam, and Petal Dance, you will be completely walled by the steel types that like to come in on Roserade.

  2. Don't use Magical Leaf or Mega Drain, they're both too weak. Keep Sludge Bomb, meaning there's no need for Toxic, because Sludge Bomb always gets your opponent poisoned when hit. Try and replace Solar Beam with Hyper Beam if you can, because you attack first with Hyper Beam, instead of waiting 1 turn until you fire with Solar Beam and Hyper Beam is stronger anyway.
