Which commute would be worse, Renton, WA to Redmond, WA, or West Seattle to Redmond?

I am lookng for a new place, I work in Redmond, my boyfriend in south Seattle, we are think of getting a place in either Renton or West Seattle.

  1. Renton to Redmond has less traffic. You do not want to go across the West Seattle bridge in traffic. Also, they'll be tearing down the 99 freeway to build a new one soon and that'll make it even worse. From Renton, you just hop on 405 and transfer to the 520 past downtown Bellevue to get to Redmond. As well, Renton is close to South Seattle.


  2. west seattle to redmond would be a nasty commute. I'd recommend looking in renton. All I can think about is the mess on hwy99 and the construction in near or around the west seattle bridge plus the crowds on the weekends. West Seattle is a nice area but I think your best bet for commute and price is Renton
