I'm looking for a renters insurance company that is not expensive and has knowledgeable and cordial employees. Is not eager to deny claims and has an extensive policy.

If you found one that covers breakage of your belongings due to accident or use by you, let me know. I'm not so sure if those types of policies exist.

  1. ~~Before we owned a home,we had State Farm, and now my kids all carry it on their apartments. It has an amazing coverage, and there is no insurance company more efficient at paying claims (in my opinion) than State Farm. I would never switch even to save money because of the unbelievable service and care we have had over the past 30 something years. My kids are extremely thrilled with the low premiums and feel very secure knowing they have it. If you have car insurance I believe they offer a discount if you carry both.~~

  2. state farms

  3. Any A rated carrier should do fine.  Renters policies are pretty standard.  None cover "breakage" unless you insure the breakable items seperately, under a fine arts floater.  You obviously have to pay more for that, and it's underwritten carefully, so if you, for example, have 12 kids in the house under 10, and leave breakables out for kids to knock over, it's likely a company won't give it to you.

  4. definitely try an "a" rated carrier and opt for the all risk policy. most "all risk" policies include breakage and mysterious disappearance (your diamond fell out -who knows wear". ask for replacement cost. you shouldn't have to schedule items that are covered for breakage however if you have antiques then it is highly suggested that you do purchase a "floater" policy for many policies only give acv for antiques. good luck with your search. if you go directly to the carrier then chances are you will end up with someone over the phone who you will never meet and never get to talk to again. try your local agent, a reputable one and have them show you where in the policy jackett that certain coverage is or isnt provided.
