I would say Maserati but since they're owned by Fiat that makes it kind of redundant with Ferrari.

Otherwise Lotus because they have such race bred street cars and a lot of racing history.

  1. The car manufacturer I'd most like to see back in F1 would be Lotus, responsible for some of the most iconic F1 designs like my favourite the 72, I'd also like to see the Brabham name back.

  2. Porsche. They would kick ***.

  3. .

I second Rosbif with Lotus and their history accompanied by a Brabham V16 soundtrack.

Also, Tim...you're spot on with the Lotus 72, but I prefer the 49. I've given a comparison on the link below....

    .

  4. lotus, benneton, jordan, like that

  5. Lotus, nuff said.

Penske (There's your Porsche connection) would be great.  They didn't do too badly in their short stint in F1 back in the 70's.

  6. Id love to see Alfa romeo back, the origional champions, though like you pointed out, unlikley due to Fiat/ Ferrari.

    Agree with you on Lotus.

Porche would be welome back as an engine supplier as would Cosworth.

  7. I would have to say jaguar and porshe. Both would bring new dimensions and new added fame to the game as well as more tighter challenge I hope!

  8. Porsche, Lotus, Audi, Lamborghini, Mazda, Koenigsegg, Bugatti, and maybe Subaru..

it would be nice also for an American company to do something other than Nascar...

    Great question btw

  9. Lotus would definitely be my first pick. it sure would be good for FORD and Cosworth to redeem the company after the Jaguar fiasco.

  10. the time when lotus used to race the costs of maintaining a team weren't as high...but today its increased how many folds....u know....Lotus itself is quite an small car manufacturer...ferrari if today not may have been owned by FIAT couldn't have managed to come to where it is ....(considering it only sells luxury sports cars) and lotus on the other hand...has its flagship model 'lotus elise' which may lose in every aspect(frm performance...to design...) when compared even to ferraris base model of its fleet of sports cars....but they were really an innovative team and 1 of the best and i would be really happy to see them back....and well as i said i dont mind...f-1 grid having more cars...so it would be good if porsche,maserati,VW...join the fray...(well according to current news...VW and porsche have considered not joining f-1 in near future atleast...)h

  11. All of them.  The more teams the merrier I say!

  12. Lotus, as they are an essential part of the history of F1: the most successful team no longer competing.

Also Brabham, for the same reasons.

Lotus and Brabham still hold 4th and 5th places (or 4th and 6th places, split by Renault) in all the all-time constructors records lists, and they haven't competed for 14 and 16 years respectively!
