  1. who cares

  2. Education!

  3. Educating others and reducing pollution.

  4. the most important componet isfor you to stop complaining and trying to take land from me wich i use to make my living go buy your own land and perserve all the wildlife you want but leave the rest of us out of it

  5. I believe the most effective way to conserve Endangered Species is through education on preservation.  Also, we need to protect the endangered species natural habitat. If we would stop cutting down all the trees, and stop building on every inch of Earth, and stop poachers from killing endangered species, they might have a chance to come off the endangered list.  If we don't take action now, many to all endangered species, will become exstinct. Then, we will only have the memories of these species.

The WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) is the largest multinational conservation organization in the world.

    "Mission

WWF's mission is the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge where we can, we work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems by

    protecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species;

promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources; and

promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution. We are committed to reversing the degradation of our planet's natural environment and to building a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature. We recognize the critical relevance of human numbers, poverty and consumption patterns to meeting these goals. "

  6. The most important component has to be preserving habitat, from encroachment and from pollution. If we wait until species are in danger, being listed, we have already waited too long. We may by then have tipped the balance irreparably.

Listing and taking corrective action is too late, but we should carry on, not just for the identified species.

  7. My thought was education, they need to get this information into the schools early on.

  8. I've spent a good deal of time working on various conservation programs and while I don't think there is a "silver bullet" solution to this problem, creating sustainable, relevant and long term habitat for an endangered species is a significant step in saving them.

I think education on endangered species (on as many levels as feasible) is also critically important.

There is a link to the Endangered Species Act below.  The ESA is enforced by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service

  9. I would say that the intent of the Endangered Species act was to preserve the ecosystems of which the individual species are interconnected parts.

There was not the political will in the country to just protect the ecosystems as whole systems, which is ultimately what is necessary. So they created the endangered species act.

Therefore I would have to say protecting habitat should be a priority.

  10. Maintaining (or creating) suitable habitat to sustain species.  Protecting there habitat from invasive species, fragmentation by roads and travel corridors so seperate populations an reach each other and diversify the gene pool.

Unfortunately many populations may be unsustainable long before they disapear especially long lived species like wood turtles or plant populations found in small areas seperated by miles.
