I know the GFDL model is well respected, but is it the most accurate?

  1. GDFL and UKMET seem to be the most dependable.


  2. According to Weather Underground ( http://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/mo... ) the best models are GFS, GFDL, UKMET, and NOGAPS.

    In terms of accuracy, GFDL is the most accurate for 1-3 day forecasts, however it is surpassed by ensembles of all the models and by the official NHC forecast.
