Which console is better? PS3 or Xbox360?

Question

PS3 has two really good shooters COD4 and Socom Confrontation when it comes out

but its expensive and u cant play ps2 games unless u have higher GB

Xbox360 has alot bigger variety of games and is cheaper, but i hear this talk about "red rings of death"? which im not sure what that is but i heard it sucks

so i dont know help me out

I prefer the PS3. Blu-ray, BC, more games that I like, and I like the controller. If someone knew nothing about video games, I would suggest it. But I have to say that you really liked the first Xbox and cared less about the PS2, then you may be better off with the 360, and vice versa.

If you don't wanna spend money playing games online, then PS3 has an advantage. Whoever said the RROD were rare, well let's put it this way. According to retailers, 30% of 360's are defective. Squaretrade is a company that specializes in selling extended warranties, and 16% of 360 buyers used their warranty, where the PS3 is the lowest, and Wii isn't that far behind. And yes the 360 is under warranty most of the time, but that's still time you lose out of playing the games until you get it replaced.

If you can afford both by all means why not get them both?

That "red ring of death" is rare and I don't personally know anyone who's ever had that happen. Supposedly it happens if the console overheats (people don't give it enough room to 'breathe' or block the fans). If it does happen you're Xbox is covered under warranty and they'll fix/replace it for free.

With XBox 360 you have a better variety of games and I personally think the online experience is WAY better.

But with PS3 you can also use it as a Blu-Ray Player (if you're into HD Movies) and the graphics are slightly better. It's also free to play online but I dont think the games selection is as good.

ps3,it has a blue-ray player, free online play,built in wireless card,only problem is instalation,at gamestop u can get a referbished one witch plays and saves ps1 and ps2,

Let's start out with the facts. PS3 has blu-ray and runs on HD TV while the xbox360 runs on the old DVD9. The 360 does not have HDMI 1.3 and does not support HDTV while the PS3 can. The PS3 works on a cell processor while the xbox360 works on the xenon processor both are somewhat similar. The xbox360 has 3 cores while the PS3 has 7. The 360 has more memory bandwith while the ps3 has more CPU floating point performance. The 360 does not run on blu-ray making the PS3 games look more virtually realistic. The xbox360 first had a 16% failure rate when it first came out while the PS3 had a failure rate of under 1% and you have to buy a cooler and pay for online play while the PS3 has a built-in cooler and has free online play even though it's true that the xbox360 does offer better online service. Even know the PS3's failure rate is lower than the 360 and overall its a better entertainment system if you get bored of playing games. Also they both share similar game titles but only a few games are different for example the PS3 has MGS4 and Ratchet & Clank and more While the xbox360 has gears of war and halo 3. Though other those a few game titles they share the same games but overall i say the PS3 is better.

In the PS3 Section u will get biased answers. the only reason most people get a 360 is becuz of xbox live. the ps3 is much better in every other way nad the most noticeable feature is that it is the cheapest bluray player yet.
