Question:

Which construction jobs are better suited for asthmatics?

I want to change careers into construction. The problem is I have asthma and am allergic to dust. I start to wheeze and cough a lot. I know working as a drywaller is out of the question. I know the masks dont help....but not 100%. Highway construction is not good either. Cant do masonry and concrete either cause im sure there is lots of dust.

What about pipefitting or elevator constructor? Or roofer? Or Carpenter? Any ideas guys? My asthma can be bad. But construction is what I want to do.

Thanks.

Your going to find a certain amount of dust in all the trades.I would lean towards electrician, plumber, trim Carpenter, flooring.

I would like to say there is an extreme shortage in all the trades.Search out a local union as they have apprentice programs which you can earn as you learn. If your gonna get into it might as well think about health/medical/retirement issues.

    Good Luck
