the LAND will cool faster...

water and how/what its made of is very special. it can act as a heat sink. this means that during the night when it gets colder outside, some body of water (like a lake or a pond or even the ocean) holds that warmth it "collected" during the day from the sun and releases it more slowly during the night to moderate and control the temperature of the land around those bodies of water.
