Can't comment on a Chevy but I can tell you a Nissan is a sack of c**p. It's an import so it's bound to be, handling is terrible, engine wont pull anything because it's made of plastic, wont do 60K+, it's so tacky too!

Get a Ford, Vauxhall or a Golf - they are the best cars for your money and they will last so long if looked after.

It depends on the model.

Some Nissan's are more expensive and some Chevy's are more expensive.

Japanese cars are always better-Nissan.

To answer this question, I used yahoo autos.

It appears from the information provided by them that the Nissan is cheaper to buy and to own for five years.

How ever for the two models I compared, the Nissan had a lower HP. But Chevrolet has inflated those ratings for years.

Depends what you are looking for?  What type of vehicle and what works best for you.  Do you want warranty? easy access to dealership?  fuel economy? price?  This question is to open ended and needs to be more specific.  I personally would never buy some Nissan models but there are also Chevy models I would never buy.

sub compact.  the nissan versa is better than the chevy aveo

compact.  the sentra is better than the cobalt

midsized.  the altima is better than the malibu (although it's close)

full sized.  toss up.

midsized suv.  xterra is better than the Equinox

fullsized suv.  the tahoe is better than the armada

fullsized crossover.  the traverse is better than the pathfinder (unless you're off roading)

minivan.  nissan as Chevy no longer makes one.

midsized truck.  the frontier is better than the colorado

fullsized truck.  the silverado crushes the titan

medium duty... the chevy, nissan doesn't make one.
