  7. It was Iraq, Iran and North Korea. However since the Iraqi government is now working closely with the U.S.'s it is no longer part of the "axis" and since North Korea has been compliant with U.S. demands about nuclear regulation they have been removed leaving only Iran.

  9. The commander of Iran's revolutionary Guards said on Sunday the United Stateds,Britain and Israel were an "axis of evil"trying to drive a wedge between s**+'ite and Sunni Muslims.

  10. N.Korea, Iran, and Iraq are the countries. Here is a link to his 2002 State of the Union address from the white house web site. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/...

  11. There really is no such thing as an axis of evil.

The word 'axis' means a line that passes through the center of something, like the center of a wheel or the center of the earth, the center that something revolves around.  In WWII we talked of the Axis powers, Germany, Japan and Italy, and some minor powers in their 'orbit', like Bulgaria, Hungary, Yugoslavia. These countries were all united in a pact to fight a war to take over the world, or at least much of it.

In this case, though, there are certain countries with which we have disagreements.  They don't threaten us in any way.  They don't have any plan to take over the world or to make things hard for us.  They are not united in a plan, so they are not an AXIS.  We just don't like them, disagree with them etc.  That's not -EVIL- but we call it that.

GW Bush wanted to make a speech, to sound tough and powerful, so he had a speechwriter come up with the idea of an Axis of Evil.  The guy who wrote the speech later said he picked Iran and Iraq and then, because he wanted to pick one country outside of the Middle East, he picked North Korea (otherwise it would have been Syria).  But the worst thing that really can be said about -any- of these countries is that they refuse to play ball with us. They are not linked together or affiliated in any way, nor do (or did) they threaten us, they just wanted to be left alone, so they were neither an axis nor evil.

  12. it's that guy.
