Question:

Which countries are the best places to teach English (and still save money)?

I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in business. I've considered teaching in Korea, but I've been reading a lot about the unfair treatment that happens there (such as contracts not being honored, poor employer relations, pay not received, etc).

So, which countries tend to give teachers the best overall experience? Why?

Two caveats: First, please exclude countries that I can't work in without experience. Second, I do need to be able to save some money as well, but I can live frugally to help accomplish that. (I'd like to save $800/month or more, if possible.)

Thanks!

  1. Well, I'd say Dubai.

    The Emirates.

Basically, big economies based on oil are constantly hiring English teachers and the money's good.

I'm probably one of the few that haven't tried my luck as a lot of fellow teachers are working there.

A former instructor of mine saved enough money to get a sailboat.

  2. i can say with fairly confidence that india is certainly one of the country you should consider. Given the industry is going global, industry needs english trainer who can help people improve their accent and grammar. If you are interested you can submit your resume here www.way2college.com.

I can't be sure if you can save 800USD but you should be able to save pretty decent money.

  3. Spain or Dubai

  4. Costa Rica is desperate for teachers, as their government mandates there must be a school within walking distance for all families. It doesn't pay a ton but it is cheap to live there.
