Apart from New Zealand, which other countries or regions of the world don't have snakes?

I'm snake-phobic so would like to know where I can safely travel....

Thanks

  1. There are snakes in every continent except for Antartica, even Alaska has one type of snake( or so I've heard)

  2. UMMMMM The arctic?

  3. Well, if you're in an urban area, you shouldn't have to worry too much.

  4. If you are basing your travel on which countries don't have snakes, you are really limiting yourself! You won't get a chance to see the Taj Mahal in India, the medinas of Morocco, Uluru in Australia or even Stonehenge in England! In fact your travels are pretty much limited to Ireland, Antarctica and Fiji. Nice, interesting places, but not exactly seeing the world...

The chance that youwill see a snake are pretty slim unless you go to rural or isolated areas. I have lived in Australia all my life and have only seen about two wild snakes (the baby python who is currently in my sleeve is a pet and she doesn't count!)

Don't let any fears limit your opportunities to see the world - I can guarantee that at the end of your life you will only regret it.

  5. apart from new zealand you have the Antarctic, i am sure i read somewhere ireland does not have snakes either, but in britain we only have 3 types of snake the viper which is our only venomous snake (not that it kills people) the grass snake completely harmless and the smooth snake which is rare but you never see them, in my whole life i have only seen one snake here, but they tend to keep away from people so britain would be pretty safe for you

  6. north pole. dont' see much snakes in snowy areas.

  8. Not sure of which countries don't but Hawaii doesn't.
