  2. Well I'm sure most countries when they arrive at interchanges such as train stations.

    Though if you mean EVERY little urban bus stop then it's sure not Australia but that sort of system would be wildly inefficient anyway. Most of the time for 'small' bus stops, stopping at them and staying at them for a few minutes would make the trip too long.

    You asked whether buses wait for set lengths of times at major stops here. Well they wait till their timetabled to leave from any major stop. Most of the time in Sydney though in particular you don't really change from bus to bus unless you're taking a bus to go catch a coach interstate or something.
