Give the youngster a break you guys!  Mexico, all of the countries of Central America, South America, and some of the Caribbean islands are generally considered Latin countries.  And the people who live in these countries are often called Latins.  Many other countries around the world can be called Latin since their language derived from ancient Latin.  That includes Spain and Portugal who settled most of what we call Latin America.

No there is not, sorry to disappoint you. Latin is an ancient language as you probably know. Latin people are from Latin America.  trust me.
