  1. Georgia

  2. Russia

  3. Russia wants to re-establish the Soviet Union and keep Georgia dependent on them oil wise (separate from NATO).

Russia is at fault... Seeing as Putin's still running the country incognito anyway.

  4. It;s Georgia. They attacked the South Ossetians, who were mainly Russian citizens. Russia had the moral right to defend its citizens. It's responisble for not getting out but it's not responisble for getting in.

  5. Those of you on this thread who still persist in thinking that Georgia was at fault, please remember that South Ossetia was and still is an integral part of Georgia, and that the South Ossetian militia was set up and armed by the Russian 'Peacekeepers'.  The russian citizens that they are protecting are only so because Russia gave them passports.  They were originally Georgians of Russian Decent. The attempt by Georgia to displace the militia was doomed from the start but the provocation was entirely down to Russia.  Georgia's desire to join the mutual defence pact that is NATO was precisely to prevent this from happening.  Although the political will to actually come to the defence of a member seems to have evaporated.

Lesson from History, when the borders of Czechoslovakia were drawn up at the end of the first world war an area populated by people of German descent was included, the Sudetenland.  When Hitler came to power, one of his first acts was to demand the return of the Sudetenland to Germany proper, and the League of Nations, and particularly Neville Chamberlain agreed.  Hitler used the agreement to annex the whole of Czechoslovakia.  The complete lack of response from the rest of the world gave Hitler the encouragement to continue expanding eastward, with Austria and subsequently the invasion of Poland.  If we do not stand up to the Russians now, they will use this as a pretext to re-conquer all the former Soviet territories that have sizeable russian minorities.  If necessary we must have a small war now, to prevent WWIII.

  6. no doubt, it is Georgia.  of course Russia was waiting for the opportunity, and Georgia opened, Russia used the opportunity.  It is the Georgia which began their actions on south ossetia which made provocation to Russia, since more people living there are Russian passport holders.  They are treated as Russians and they always for Russia only.  Georgia put faith on america and hence, it began the war.  The president of Georgia have no experience and he should learn more.

  7. Georgia, they did attack first. but you have to remember this is not about morals, this is about who will do what about it. Russia did do something about it and the USA stepped in.  is it the USA's place to say anything? morally, no. but because the USA is so powerful they will do what they want.  the USA will put missiles in Poland, and Russia will do something about it, and the USA will also do something about it.  we are talking about 2 big dogs that are about to go at it

i don't see either side backing down. who's right or wrong doesn't really matter in the end.

i wish the world lived on basic human morals and loved one another. but the world loves war instead. especially McCain and his war with the world gates of h**l attitude

  8. it is the US fault, for egging the georgians on, and than not supporting them.

  9. Georgia attacked the south ossetians. They did open fire first. They are totally responsible for all that happened because of it.

  10. People will think it's Georgia's fault but it is definitely Russia's fault. They want the oil pipe line plain and simple. They also want to regain some of the break away countries they lost in the Cold War. Russia is not innocent here. People need to do some research on the subject to get some real answers.

  11. Russia went into Georgia probably doing some beta testing on what the US reactions were going to be. They were testing the candidates responses to their planned invasion. And now are flexing their muscles and feeling like the old KGB.

  12. It is the U.S.A. Gorgia is pupit of U.S and they attached South Ossetia, and allowed Russians to attack them.

It is strange that if Russia attacked Gorgia all the west are angry, but when U.S attacked Iraq and Afghanistan no one showed reaction except very few countries.

  13. America, for encouraging Georgia to apply for membership in NATO, knowing it would anger the Russians.

  14. Uncle Sam and his idiot Georgia dog who took the first bite.
