  2. Cadillac is an American car named after the explorer Marquis deCadillac, a Frenchman. Louis Chevrolet was also French and the car always has been American. Those are Genral Motors divisions. Another American car named after a foreign explorer was the DeSoto. However, there are a few Cadillacs that aren't American: The Allante was Italian though they werre assembled in the US. The Small Cadillac  was from Opel of Germany and I'll let someone else give the name.
