  1. Good question. Mexico is a very dangerous place these days. In  Brazil you find a lot of poor. But thinking about how many Mexicans and Brazilian emigrate, Mexicans are most likely to live their country  because they won't have enough to survive. So I guess Brazil has a better standard of living comparing to Mexico.

  2. It depends where you go to each, Mexico has some really bad slums and so does Brazil, but they also have beautiful cities.

  3. Cleveland is.

  4. As in most questions of this nature the answer is not easy.

Both countries have extreme poverty and great wealth; frequently in close proximity. Poverty is predominant in rural areas, whereas wealth and thriving middle class populations are present in the cities.

Southern Brasil (Sao Paulo & Rio de Janeiro) have good living standards -- but also favellas (poor neighborhoods). The Brasilian economy is quite solid.

In Mexico thriving cities and large towns are spread throughout the country, with Mexico City being dominant.

Mexico, since it is part of NAFTA has certain advantages over Brasil and may be marginally better off.

I've been to both countries frequently and would recommend Mexico.
