can't think of any.  if you live in a palace and your people don't then you're not part of the people and can't be down to earth.  Unless maybe it's a very tiny country w/no room for a palace

Despite the wealth, a lot of the Gulf Monarchies are very connected to their people. They have meetings with them and discuss their problems...and solve them.

If I had to pick one, I would probably choose Sultan Qaboos of Oman. This monarch makes an annual journey around his Sultanate to meet everyone who wants to meet him and he listens to their problems and (I would imagine) solves them.

None. How can a monarchy that is nether democratly elected or self made(in terms of making their own money) be in tune with the common man or women. They will never be able to use public transport in the way most people they will never have to experience the knocks and impacts of every day living.

They have servants and marry from the social creme of society they live in privileged circus of media focus and red carpets rolled out in every country or town they descend on .
