Which country is the powerhouse of Pool?

Is it the U.S., Taiwan or the Philippines? Which country produces the most number of quality Pool players?

I bet on the Philippines. Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante and co. takes the cake

This kind of thing goes in trends.  Lately, the Philippines has been giving us great players like Reyes, Bustamante, Alcano, etc.  Still I think that Germany has some of the best players as well such as Souquet, Hohmann, Engert, etc.  Still, look as how well the U.S. performs against Europe in the Mosconi Cup.  Say what you will, but we still have Strickland, Morris, Deuel, Schmidt, etc.  It's a cliche' but I honestly thinks that it's an "any given Sunday" situation.  I don't think nationality is really that big of a factor.  Good players come from all over the world.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

Well, per capita it's probably the Philippines right now considering the number of great players compared to the population of the country. As far as sheer volume, I think it would be hard for anyone to argue that more professional level players come out of any other country than the USA.
