That is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in Wikipedia.  Millions of soviet citizens perished in famines and pogroms during the 1930s.  I'd rather be out of work than out of life.

The Soviet Union is correct.

While other countries had economic connection with the United States through trade, and were duly affected when Wall Street crashed, the States - along with most of the rest of the world - were avoiding the USSR like the plague, in protest against communism. On the other hand, the lack of connections meant that it suffered no negative effects from the United States's disaster.

Other countries evaded major problems by either militarizing - like Germany and Italy - or outright invasion - like Japan.
