Many countries are mining for diamonds all over the world. Though rough diamonds from congo are very sought after. There are good deposits in canada and australia.The diamonds are mined in many countries of africa though. Zimbabwe has also mining for diamonds.

As for polishing diamonds, india is in the forefront for smaller size diamonds and other facetting or cutting centres in the world are antwerp, hongkong,china,israel etc
