USA will, but China is close. This time around Russia does not have any great gymnastics, track and filed, or swimmers. These are the top 3 sports in the Olympics. Russians usually do well in the winter olympics. China is doing well because they have a home town advantage and it is obvious to me they do get favoritism from the judges because of the home town advantage, especially in the gymnastics.

China will have the greatest Gold Tally (and will thus be the winner of the medal count).

I think China will also end up with the most total medals.

Why? They are the hosts and there is a huge advantage in that. They have trained for 4 years for this moment and have placed huge pressure on themselves to perform. I think their lead at this point is unassailable.

Between USA and Russia, USA will win the most gold medals this year.  However, China will be actually taking home the most gold medals this 2008 Olympics nover all other countries.  As for total medal count, that will be a close call between China and USA.

USA will come in 2nd - because the Jamaicans have been training like crazy, they have really given us a run for our money this Olympics which has made the races more exciting...
