Eventually every empire or superpower has to give way to a stronger force. I don't see any immediate signs of which county that would be but there are some that frighten the bejasus out of me. Which would you prefer and which scares you most?

  1. I like the way things are right now. God blessed America, not Australia! lol

America will out live Rome and will be the greatest even after I die! But if I had to chose, I would chose Canada, because they speak like us, and they're right next to us. Plus I love Canada. Everything is sooo peaceful there.

  2. Likely: China. I agree wholeheartedly with Mathew20 & Luminous. Their short (& necessary for them at the time) experiment with communism is coming to an end, and a system of traditional meritocracy is about to replace it. There's not a country in the world better geared to face the technological challenges of the 21st century. - Most of their civil service/govt have engineering or science backgrounds - in comparison, most of ours are lawyers.

I would prefer Canada, or New Zealand to be the next super power, but I don't even like the idea of having any super power strutting around telling us what to do - even the lovely Canadians & Kiwis. There's no point to it, and it is anathema to national sovereignty & the principle of a democratic UN.

Australia? You have got to be kidding. I like Aussies generally, but their recent history looks like a page out of Dr.Mengele's treatise on Aryan superiority. They only stopped hunting the Aboriginals for sport in the 1970's, and their continued smears, misinformation, and outright lies about the plight of the original Australians are shameful.

  3. Most prefer: Australia

    Scariest: Vatican City

  4. China scares me the most, very closely followed by Russia.

If anyone had to take over the duty I would pick Austrailia.

  5. Prefer: Japan (love the people, culture, and language)

Scares: Any Middle East, South American, or African country

  6. Switzerland or Sweden. I think they would use there power well.

  7. OK it won't be UK so Australia, Canada or New Zealand the rest arn't worth a candle and wil make the whole world suffer

  8. That's an extremely long time in the future and I know I won't be alive to see it so I could care less.  I hope it's Israel sense they are closer to God than any other country.

  9. To be very honest with, I would support any super power with a culture of technology if the US collapses (which I prefer would not happen). To give an example why, just look how humanity fell into a dark age that lasted over a thousand years of barbaric superstition, violence and fervent religion not kept in check by reason just to get back where we are today after Rome collapsed and no nation was there to provide a continuation or to be a keeper of knowledge.

For reasons above, if it is China, so be it. It is best to have a

nation like that in power instead of having another collapse like that again.

  10. There is only one country that is capable and wants the job: China. The Chinese are pragmatists who take a very, very long view of history so they don't really scare me too much. We can be thankful of the destructiveness of nuclear weapons that so long as we know that we will never use them as a first strike weapon no one, certainly not the Chinese, are going to risk retaliation. There's just no point in it....

  11. The most likely future superpowers after 2050 are China and India.

China has a population of 1.3 billion people

India has a population of 1.1 billion people - although India's population is significantly younger than China's, due to China's one-child policy.

India's population is forecast to overtake China's by 2030 too.

The population of China and India combined constitutes approximately a third of the world's population.

The third most populous country is the USA with just over 300 million people, so you can see how huge the populations of China and India really are.

Due to the fact that China and India have recently adopted free market economies during the past few decades (since the 1970s approximately), rapid economic growth in both countries is bound to assure them both the world's two largest economies by 2050.

With a large economy comes the financial resources to finance a large, powerful and technologically advanced military and military industrial complex.

Two other countries predicted to become world powers in the next few decades are Brazil and Russia - although obviously they won't achieve superpower status amongst the likes of China, India and the USA.

These countries, termed the "BRICs" countries by the Goldman Sachs bank, are the four main up-and-coming economies. BRICs stands for "Brazil, Russia, India & China". Look it up on Wikipedia for more information.

So, according to the experts, the largest economies of the future - and therefore the most significant world powers - are...

    - China

    - India

    - Russia

    - Brazil

    - USA

  12. Best of all....NO superpower at all.

  13. Why don't we have another go at the whole British Empire thing?

which scares me most? - China, or a federal EU

  14. Who would I prefer?  Canada.  I love that country and every time I visit... which is quite often I always feel welcome.  Maybe that's because of my mutual love for ice hockey?

    Then reality sets in and......

Personally I think China or India are going to be the next world power after we are.  It's already going in that direction.  I personally would prefer India over China, because China still has some questionable policies in place.  I've never been to India, but I know a lot of Indians and they are very peaceful.

  15. Austraila would be great....any third or fourth world country scares me!

  16. Australia

  17. The  Grand Duchy of  Fenwick

  18. A superpower is a state with a leading position in the international system and the ability to influence events and project power on a worldwide scale.

Many doubt the existence of superpowers in the post Cold War era altogether, stating that today's complex global marketplace and the rising interdependency between the world's nations has made the concept of a superpower an idea of the past and that the world is now multi-polar.

  19. It is time - for the "Canadian Empire/super power"

Wow - sounds funny doesn't it

What would we do with that ? Would we begin bombing campaigns if other nations didn't import our beer ? Would we occupy some place right after they beat our hocky team ?

Would we debate constitutional law on the international stage until other nations started commiting suicide just not to have to hear us go on about it one more time ?

Would we fly massive jets into the US just to stick up biligual signs and then fly right back out ?

Yes embrace the Canadian super power and all your road signs will be in English and in French

La Commission canadienne de vol superpuissance dans le monde entier à veiller à la signalisation routière sont en anglais et en français

  20. The Great Germany, we will rise, we will eliminate are problems, clean up this world. Some of us will ready for this war long before the war starts. Hail to Germany! World War2 was a loss to us but we will rise again and smash other even harder. German army is still one of the most sophisticated armies in the world, one of the toughest, strongest and they know how to take over.

Germans we will rise again someday!

  21. My preference? Canada, Australia, Britain, Japan, Sweden

    Who'll win? China.

China simply has the drive, the long-view, the population, the resources, and the philosophy. You can't remain a constant for thousands of years without doing something right. The US isn't even 400 years old yet and we're collapsing.

The Chinese are industrializing in record time, generally have a strong sense of community, loyalty, and honor, the ability to provide an educated skilled population, the manufacturing, production, and R&D facilities to maintain strong local goods productions, and enough tech and science background to carry the developmental torch.

Regardless of what you may think about them, they'll win this next round, mark my words. Americans (and I'm one myself here), time to start learning Mandarin.

  22. I don't prefer any, especially if they misuse the status as we have. Though not as bad as some perhaps, bad still the same. If you look at our "wars" most were over Greed and resources, while we (US Corporations, if there is such a thing) have let other countries become the makers of almost every single thing we invented, while we deal in "futures!

Our biggest job maker at the moment is no-bid contracts for the Iraqi war! And most are committing fraud!

Interesting that Boeing, like a crybaby, got the contract for the new aircraft tankers to be pulled off the table and reviewed as part of the contract would have gone to Northrop Grumman Corporation/ Airbus, who makes a superior product. I think Northrop is currently making the f-18 and the B-2 bomber, among other things.  By law Boeing , and Grumman as well, have been convicted of fraud many times, are not even suppose to be considered for contracts!

"The number of convictions and guilty pleas has accelerated in the last two years, with 16 cases involving 14 of the largest weapons makers. They include Boeing, Grumman and Teledyne, which made payoffs to obtain confidential Pentagon documents; Rockwell International and Emerson Electric, which overcharged the Government, and Fairchild Industries and Northrop, which failed to test certain weapons components or falsified the test results."

There already are other superpowers and the 2 which are the most formidable are Russia and China! China has access to so many troops, and are so close to American soil, they could probably send wave after wave and there is not much we could do to stop them. h**l, they are even manufacturing our bombs. One could only hope that most of their weapons work about as well as there products they manufacture for us to buy! However, I don't think that is the case!

  23. You're going to have to choose a country with land mass/resources and population to be realistic, unless it's done by fear and force like Germany and the UK.

  24. I'd like to see Britain back in charge of the world. That way our government could s***w up everyone else's country like they have ours. At least we'd be on an even playing field then!

  25. Wales...we would re train the miners to undermine all other countries...bit long to Japan perhaps but we'd get there. Then  we would expect everyone to speak Welsh and eat leaks all day if they refused.

You see soon the great wealth generator will not be oil or Computers it will be water and cos it rains such a lot in Wales.

We shall have the power to make all nations thirsty!

  26. MEXICO

that would forever end our illegal immigration problem  !!!!
