I have two socket 478 CPUs, a 1.73GHz Pentium 4 and a 2.6GHz Celeron.

I know that Celeron is basically Pentium-lite, but would the extra ~870MHz make it perform better than the Pentium?

  1. No trust me i have a Pentium 4 processor and a Celeron  d. The Pentium 4 is 1.60ghz and the celeron is 2.93ghz. The celeron does ok in performance but it gets super hot!!! The Pentium 4 stays around 140 degrees F. But the celeron gets up to about 153 degrees F. In my opinion go for the P4.

  2. Pentium is better, the speed will make a difference when your celeron freezes like it normally does...
