Just a guess: Bats or owls.  Both use their hearing to hunt at night.

Here's my fashionable pick. The Emperor penguin. When the mother returns from sea, she has to identify the sound of her chick amidst the cacophony of noise created by thousands of birds. The chick can be anywhere as it is not sitting in a nest. It is astonishing.

But animals that rely on sonar in pitch darkness, like bats, have to have the best hearing. They 'see' with their ears as their ears process the reflection of sound waves from objects to avoid otherwise tragic collisions and to catch insects in mid-air.
