  1. Stick with companies you recognize and shop for rate.  Nothing else really matters.  The lowest FIXED rate from a legitimate bank should get your business.  The other bells and whistles don't matter when you're trying to establish credit.

  2. You have few options. It is upto you to decide which one to get. I would recommend the following site which lists some of the best cards especially for starters with No Credit History.

  3. There will be no clear cut answer. Everyone who sells a card or has a card will think theirs is best! It sounds like you have done a lil research, and i suggest you do a little more. Set up a worksheet detailing the key factors you are looking for (Interest rate, APR, & rewards usually) and call the creditors directly. Give competitve quotes to the creditors on the phone to maximize rewards and to get the lowest rate possible. After 5-10 calls use your worksheet to find the best card for you!

  4. The best credit card is the one that cost you the least (preferably free) AND has the lowest interest rate. This is a general rule because the answer depends on how you will use it.   If you intend to use it for small purchases and pay off the balance each month, you may want to get a card that pays rewards.  If you intend to charge and then pay off less than the whole balance, you want to get a lower interest rate.  The best way to build you credit is to pay on time EVERY month and not charge too much in respect to your credit limit.  Building good credit now will save you thousands of dollars when you go to buy a house and hundreds, if not thousands when you go to buy a car.    Good credit is such a valuable asset.

This website has some good info on how to build/repair your credit as well as how to choose the credit card best for you.  www.credit-cards-comparisons.com   (no this is not mine).

    Good luck.
