Personally the career of Mark Richardson has always inspired me

He started 1st class cricket as a left arm spinner batting at 11 and after failing he changed his game and eventually through hard work and sheer will power transformed himself into a successfull test opening batsman averaging around 45

  2. SACHIN TENDULKAR.

    I admire his batting.

  3. Matthew Nicholson of New South Wales.

Overcame Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) to become a successful state level fast bowler and represented Australia in a Test in 1999.

Never made it big as an international cricketer but he is still the closest in terms of recovery from personal illness in cricket as Lance Armstrong is to cycling.

  4. Mike Hussey coz He Concentrates only on his perfomence&also doesnt involve in Unnecessary Stuff...

    EDIT:

    neo,itz my personal Feelings,thank u Joel

  5. Good question mate

    Ian Botham is my pick

Here's why, First of all cricketing wise he was an all-rounder who bowled medium fast (like me). He was a great player, and he could win a game for England from almost any situation provided (see 1981 Ashes). He is a national treasure over here, because he is that good, (only person ever to have had an Ashes series named after him). I also met him once a few years ago, and i couldn't have met a nicer guy.

NOT only is he a great cricketer, and a great guy. BUT he also has raised millions of £ for his leukemia charity, he has put a lot of time and effort into raising the money (he has walked thousands of miles). He is a great guy who deserves everything he has achieved !!!

  6. SAchin Tendulkar ...achieved great success from a young age.

  7. Sourav Ganguly, the old phoenix

  8. Muttiah Muralitharan- he is much critisced for his action which clearly is legal and he keeps playing on and taking 700 test wickets isnt a bad record.

  9. Brett Lee, because of his ability to get on with the game & leave petty differences aside. Also his charity work & kindness to his fans, & deep loyalty to his friends.

  10. Rahul Dravid, the WALL

  11. sir donald bradman

  12. Sourav Ganguly

  13. Rahul Dravid inspires me d most...

He has got a wonderful technique,an excellent discipline and all possible good qualities which should be in a successful cricketer.

More than anything,he is a through gentleman as well as a stylish player.

  14. Steve Waugh.

He has been a good captain who motivates his teammates. He was involved in many charity works in India for the cancer patients and also for the disabled.

Another is Mathew Hayden. He has to face many cricticisms last year when he was out of form.He was dropped from the team. But he came back during the Chappel Hadlee trophy, scoring 181. In the World Cup,it was his run riot. He took all the cricticisms as an inspiration to go on and show all he is still the best.

  15. The one cricketer who everyone can be inspired of is Sachin, the God of cricket. He is not only a great cricketer, but a great person as well. Despite all this fame and success, he never let it get over him. So modest  and cool he is, only God can be. He is far above us ordinary mortals.

Many people here don't know that he donates handsome amount to several charitable institutions as well.

Edit: Thanks Kookee, for the info about Botham. Now I respect him even more.
