  1. It is certainly our Kapildev. Due to his efforts on ICL cascaded to IPL and resulted in such a mega turn over ( money wise ) and good earning for players. Can any one deny this fact?.

  2. Sachin. Donates hefty amounts to several charitable institutions.

  3. while i am not a big fan of his personally, no one has yet mentioned the charity work of Steve Waugh! he has been donating time and money to charities in India for years, he sponsors children over there are, he has also helped build special schools over there, i think he opened one for girls with leprosy or whos parents have leprosey or something like that, and i know thats not the only school he has opened over there.

someone mentioned people who have helped bring money into cricket, well how about the bloke who started it 30 years ago by being the first to pay players as professionals? Kerry Packer!! if it wasnt from him starting to pay cricketers what they were worth thru World Series Cricket, then they would still be basically playing for nothing

  4. Glenn McGrath, raising money for breast cancer.

  5. Brett Lee,  Ian Botham, Sachin

  6. Sir Ian Botham. It wasn't for his cricketing expoits that he was knighted, but his charitable work raising money for leukaemia research. Remember his famous charity walks, beginning with JohnO'Groats to Land's End in the mid 1980's.

Shane Warne is another real life hero. His 'Shane Warne Foundation' raises money for under priviliged children in Australia:
