Out of Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Princess, and Celebrity?

The only ones I have heard of out of them four is actually Royal Caribbean and Carnival. I have been on Carnival and liked it but I didn't know about any of the other cruise lines.

I have been on one cruise and that was with Carnival didn't know if the others were better then Carnival.

Thanks.

  1. OH wow i went on a disney cruise for 4 days. IT was over the top wonderful. I would say disney cruise

  2. Carnival Cruise line Inc. owns Princess, Holland America, P&O and Cunard. Royal Caribbean owns Celebrity. As a veteran cruiser I am not brand loyal. I figure out where I want to go and then check out which ships go there and choose the best star rating and best value for my dollar. Check out vacationstogo.com and do a search using the find a bargain button.

  3. The cruise line that you choose depends on what you want to get from your cruise. Disney Cruises is great for families. You have lots of fun and it's very casual.

Royal Carribean is probably the most well known and popular. I've been on a cruise by them and it was very enjoyable. They sail to many different ports and I think they are the best.

The other cruises are supposedly cheaper, but also less popular and not as high quality as Royal Carribean or Disney. I hope this helps, and have fun cruising!

  4. Well, I think they're all good, but for different things.

Carnival, which is a good reference point, definitely has the best nightlife and social atmosphere.  But it's the least "polished" of the four in terms of ship upkeep.

Royal Caribbean has the biggest ships, the ones with "all the bells and whistles".  Surf simulator, ice skating rink, big shopping arcade, rock climbing wall, etc.  It's also a bit more "polished" than Carnival. Some pictures of RCI's Liberty of the Seas (the biggest): http://www.cruisesavvy.com/journals/pj/2...

Princess is good, but not my favorite-  I think of them as being like Royal Caribbean but lacking the rock climbing wall.  Large ships, and good quality product, but nothing special.

    Caribbean Princess:

FYI, they also have small ships.

Celebrity is more expensive than the others, and prides itself on the quality of its food.  Beautiful ships, though not always as clean as they should be (most people probably wouldn't even notice, though).

    Celebrity Infinity:

    Hope that helps!

  5. Princess is supposedly of better quality than either Royal or Carnival, and Celebrity is better than any of the three.  And for an "adults-only" cruise [i.e. not taking your kids], I'd suggest Celebrity, unless you're the really "party-hearty", "constant activity" type.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Reviews" and see what the pros and past cruisers say about the different lines and ships.  Or click on "Boards" and find boards with discussions about every aspect of cruising.  You might also be interested in "Cruise Styles" at the top of the home page; it discusses different types of cruise passengers and which lines/ships fit [e.g. "romance", etc].

  6. Hello,

I have been on both Carnival and Princess.

The food on both were comparable to each other.  Both lines have food that is quite good.  Carnival had more of a variety on their buffet than Princess, but dining room choice was about the same.

The staff on Princess were much more personable than the Carnival staff.  All of the staff that took care of my family and I knew our names and what we liked!  Carnival has nice staff but the Princess staff went out of their way to make us happy.

Both lines had good entertainment.  The Carnival magic show was very good and so was the comedian on Princess.

Both lines have great activities for kids.  Carnival has more going on for younger kids.  I am a teenager and I made the most friends on my Princess cruise, but it just depends on the itinerary.  I have enjoyed both lines.

Princess is a little more upscale than Carnival.  On my Princess cruise, there were more older people than my Carnival cruise and fewer partiers, which I enjoyed because my family is not much of a party family.

There were more activities that interested my parents on Carnival, but Princess still had a lot to do.

Princess seemed less crowded but it could have just been our ship and travel time.

I have not been on Celebrity but I have heard that it is somewhat comparable to Princess.  It is a more upscale line than the budget lines and I have heard that a lot of people enjoy it!

I have not been on Royal Caribbean either, but they have a lot of activities for kids and I've heard their food is quite good from people who have cruised it before.

You will have a good time no matter what line you choose.

    Hope this was helpful!
